I'm looking to get back into climbing. I have done Mt. Baker and some of the spires in the Cascades and have done some multi pitch rock climbing in the Gunks an Dacks. I have also spent a couple days doing ice climbing in the Catskills. I'm considering taking a few climbing classes this month, but would also be up for climbing with other partners. I have tools, cramps, boots and beaners. I live in NJ near the Lincoln Tunnel, but may be able to figure out public transit to make it easier to meet up with potential climbing partners. I would also be open to finding other climbers that want to take classes so we can share transportation costs.

A long long time ago we used to climb some of the flows near the Holland Tunnel, there were some farther up river too. I'm sure that's not smiled upon

If you haven't already you may want to look at NEIce.. they have a bunch of people who climb up in that area.

OK. Thanks for passing on NEice to me and the tip about climbing near the Holland Tunnel.

Sounds like PIPC land which is all 'No Climbing'

I once heard that Breakneck may have climbs on it.

There's also a fair amount of stuff in CT you could easily hit from N.NJ....

NEICE is great! Don't bother with Holland Tunnel, post 9/11 now will get you arrested.

Hi Tom,
I did some climbing about a year ago, took some lessons and was out at the gunks. I have been thinking about taking some courses as well now. Also looking to get back into it now. I am not super experienced but if your looking for a partner I would love to join!

Hey Tom, I am in Jersey as well and looking for a Catskills Ice Partner. I don't lead ice yet, but if you're up for doing some top-rope ice climbing let me know!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
