I'm looking for an old topo of the Card Deck in the Organ Mountains, New Mexico. Anyone have one? Karl K.? Reed C.? Anyone else?

Hey Robert, I am moving back to Las Cruces at the end of January, perhaps we can go climbing sometime.

Edmund Ward did most of the exploration in the area. If one climbs on the left side of the formation, the pro may be thin (up to R). Jokers Wild is the climb to do. Be prepared for old school 5.8. A small bolt kit might be useful but I remember one could bypass the bolt protected face at the top.

Where in the Organs is this? Good to see some old routes being re-discovered.

The formation north of the mouth of Rabbit Ears Canyon contains Lambda Wall on the south and Ace's Face on the north. The middle is a jumble of shorter pieces of rock.

Thanks Pat. Look me up when you get back into town, I'd love to go out, but finding time has been tough for me lately.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
