Wide shoes!

I got myself some fat feet and relatively small heels, I've been wearing Miuras for a while now and I'm pretty happy with them, But I've been thinking about trying the Geshidos though...Maybe anasazis? Though I worry the heel will be to big. Just looking for suggestions for wide footed people! I'll be spending most of january in Joshua tree so I'm looking more for a good all around shoe.

Try the Scarpa Force. The second I hear someone mention they have wide feet at my store, I suggest they try that shoe. 9 times out of 10 they leave carrying a pair.

I'm almost done with my second pair of Muiras, so those work pretty well for me too. I've also found Katanas to be good. I have a pair of Moccasyms, which are reasonably comfortable. However, the Moccasym heal is a bit big, so from looking at those next to the Anasazis I'd imagine the heal will be really loose on the Azasazis.

The width of my street shoes is 6E.

i got fat feet with sausage toes as well. the anasazis do not fit my feet well. i have the Acopa Aztecs and they fit awesome but are thrashed after 3 years of climbing. im in the market for fat footed shoes as well.

if you can find them, fiveten grandstones are an awesome all around for wider feet. love mine, on my second pair

Second the Five Ten Grandstones. Also, the TC Pros fit wider than other Sportiva shoes. Generally, Five Ten will have a wider fit than Sportiva, however. Hope this helps

Yup, old pair of 5.10 Spires is wide, flexible and comfy.

Whats your experience with their rubber? I used to have a pair, good fit indeed, comfy but competent. And then the rubber went slippery after like 2 or 3 months. I went climbing two or three times a week at that time so I don't think it was oxidation. Known issue or bad luck? I've been thinking of resoling them with fiveten rubber, they would rock then!

i have have caveman feet (square). i find la spotivas very narrow.
I loved the 5.10 t-rocks but they quit making them... so now i have recently bought a pair of the huecos in j tree ... just as good, probably better...

Hmm yeah, I actually have a pair of forces and I must say they're not super inspiring for the sharp end...the rubber tends to harden up and it wears sort of coarsely so the surface area gets worse...at least thats been the case on granite

It's the same vibram runner used by all the other high-end shoes on the market from Europe. (testarossa, Solution, etc)

I think the difference is in your head.

Sand it flat if it bothers you. I tend not to have a problem with the rubber on granite, even when it gets all dimply.

If you're really feeling like you're held back by the performance of a modern climbing rubber compared to any other modern climbing rubber, you're on crack. If it feels slippery, clean your shoes better. If the rubber is torn, sand it down. This is basic shoe maintenance and is absolutely required for all shoes to perform long term.

To answer the original question, I really like the Scarpa Feroce for a wide forefoot and narrow heel. Slightly narrower heel and wider forefoot than the Miura. Really my dream shoe. I like stiff shoes though, so YMMV.

I have some Forces too with a wide size 13 foot. They fit pretty damn good, the only problem is they dont stretch in length at all so my big foot(3/4 size bigger) hurts after a while. Great shoe for all around and edging, never had a problem with the rubber either. I cant feel shit in them cause they are so stiff so I can see people not liking them.

I always have my best luck with Sportivas and am still sporting some sweet Barracudas that fit like a glove even with the size difference. I need a deep heel so my foot doesnt fall out like they did with Mythos.

Yeah I think the stiffness in the forces has a lot to do with my lack of confidence in them...but its true...much harder things have been climbed in much less advanced shoes...Stoked on all the feedback so far...I tried a pair of Geshidos today and I think they were the most narrow running evolvs Ive ever tried. Looking forward to trying on some five tens..

I have fairly wide feet, and I love my Scarpa Vapor V's. They fit and function very similarly to the Miura VS, with just a little more room for those larger feet.

Yeah! I used to have a pair, they were great, Little more aggressive than when what I'm looking for right now I think...Does anyone have any advice on sizing five tens? my sportiva size is 42.5-43 and street shoe is usually 10.5 or 42.
