So had a mike harder lemonade burst in my pack this weekend. Dowsed my dyneema runners, rope, and harness. Any reason to worry? Only 9% alcohol... Whatcha think?

the alcohol is not the biggest problem, the sugar is worse.... wash all with clear handwarm water....

play it safe and stick with king cobra malt liquor next time......i don't know if it's better for your ropes, but it is better for the soul

Play it extra safe and go with Everclear. That will put some hair on yer nuts. Make sure you get the legit 190 proof version too.

Flask of good single malt with the lid screwed down tight. Stash it below your gear or in an outside pocket.

The clear lukewarm water wash is probably a good idea.

word for word agree. rinse and reload with screw on cap metal flask with favorite hard whiskey. skip the bottles next time or leave in cooler in car until after the climbs.

I don't care how many X-rated trad climbs you've done, this guy has way bigger balls than any of us. Coming on the forums and voluntarily stating that he was in possession of a Mike's hard lemonade...Honnold's got nothing on this guy.

Laphroaig in a flask. Or if it's coming along for the climb, red wine.

What if you spilled whiskey on your rope? or Everclear!

I'd think any strong alcohol would just evaporate from your rope, and the other substances should wash off, easier than ground in sand or dirt on a rope. No concern....who hasn't splashed a bit of beer on the rope while belaying anyway?

I think your dyneema runners are fine. My dog puked on some runners in the back of my van last winter which sat overnite as I didn't notice so I called the manufacturer of dyneema in North Carolina (US 800.883.7404 ). I asked for and got to a Product Manager - Nooo problem! The stuff is actually impervious to most of the shit climbers fear (gasoline, grease, cleansers). Do not take my word for it, call them.
That said I am adding this disclaimer: I AM MAKING NO GUARANTEES NOR WARRANTIES REGARDING THE INTEGRITY OF ANYONE'S DYNEEMA EQUIPMENT WHICH HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO ANY CHEMICAL EXPOSURE WHATSOEVER. I RECOMMEND TOSSING OUT ANY GEAR WHICH HAS SO BEEN EXPOSED.
I personally would rinse them as was advised and climb on them with full confidence.
As for the rope and harness - I suggest you do as I did and call the manufacturer. May take a number of calls, waiting a few days for a return call but - how much did they cost and how much is that worth to your peace of mind?

Nothing to worry about, I think if you squeeze the ropes and slings and stuff hard enough you can recover most of the lemonade.

Forget the flask. Just store the booze in your stomach and all worries or troubles shall be removed from existence.

This reply takes the cake... but seriously guys, Thanks for all the reply's... Helpful or otherwise... Haha. Yep mikes is definitely not something I would generally tell everyone about.. But mikes is a mighty tasty lemonade. If you haven't drank lemonade since you can buy beer then by all means hate away. You can't look at it like alcohol.. Just lemonade that's tasty with a little kick!
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
