I"m going to be in Boulder for work several times throughout the winter and I was wondering what the climb-ability of eldo is during the winter months (Dec.-Feb.) Is it even worth trying?

Thanks!

Could have a foot of snow and below zero or could be dry sunny and 60. If you catch a good day you'll be climbing in a T-shirt

The West Ridge is the solar collector of the area.

Conditions don't slow some people down!!

Seriously though, Eldo gets some gloriously nice days in the winter. Cross your fingers you're free on a nice day!

To note: the Bastille is not the area's solar collector.

Calm sunny winter days on the West Ridge in Eldo. are hard to beat.

When it gets over freezing after a snowfall is when to look out. As anywhere, rock/ice fall is way worse with snow and freeze/thaw conditions. Belay helmets are good for that time of year.
You can have climbing in t-shirt days all winter there.
Remember that Cold = Sticky
and most important less people.

If the wind is up, it also collects wind. In that case consider the sheltered Hawk Eagle Ridge. Climbing not as good overall, but if the sun is out, it'll be warm and not much wind.
