Description
Getting There
If you are coming from the La Garita cash store, this is the first right turn after the Penitente turnoff (about .7mi south on 38A from the fork to Penitente). At this turnoff, there are 2 roads to take, going right takes you to Witches, going left takes you to Sidewinder. From this fork, it is about a mile (1.4 miles) to the parking. The parking area is identified by a wooden road closure gate on your right after you drive down a hill. Lower clearance vehicles can park at the top of the hill and walk an extra 5 minutes. From the parking, walk north on the closed road for about 15 minutes to the climbs.
Per WMcD with additions above in italics:
From the parking, walk north on old/closed road for a couple minutes, and then follow the singletrack bike trail when it diverges from the closed road. After 10-15 minutes, the singletrack rejoins the old road and then quickly breaks left. Stay on the old road (not the bike trail), and walk toward the rocks. About 100 meters after leaving the bike trail and at a road closed sign, cross the wash, and begin walking up the canyon on the right (do not get suckered into following the old road into the other canyon).
There isn't much of a trail in the canyon Just walk up the wash until you find the climbing.
