I ice climb cause it makes my gym climbing better.

Exactly. Ice climbing can be a lot more rythmic and flow-y than rock climbing. Some of the lines are beautiful, and some really good ones aren't beautiful too(little runnels in cramped dark gullys). Plus if you can ice AND rock climb, it enables you to do way cooler routes in the big mountains.

Catching a few 'dinner plates' in the forehead and nose make for some bloody fun times..besides the bleeding clots up really fast in the cold air.

I know right! Next hell be saying that water can go from liquid to gas with out reaching its boiling point...and then he'll call it evaporation or something!

Go read a book and learn something.

The transitions between seasons is always a trip: getting pumped about the oncoming ice season and forecasts, feeling your first sticks of the season, harnessing the nervous energy of an alpine start vs. actually feeling the rock with your fingers instead of wearing gloves and using your tools, feeling light without the winter clothing and gear, the smell of spring and/or summer in the air...both are a bummer to leave behind as well.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
