Hi

Have about 6 days in total in tuscon area to climb. Would like a day or two to warm up. Looking for a couple days of fun sport climbing in 10-11 range and some fun trad in the range of 8-9, and easy 10. I did buy the squeezing the lemon book, but would like some local input.

Thanks

Be sure and go to check this out to get the updated mile markers. mountainproject.com/v/mount…

Windy Point West trad and some sport. N. Fin, Swim Fin
Windy Point East Wind Wall, Punch and Judy Towers, Rupley Towers, Anduriel Tower.

You might wander around a bit trying to find things. I suggest printing as many pictures of the areas and routes you want to climb from MP.com. The old book doesn't have many photos so it can be hard to get oriented. The new pullouts and the enlarged Windy Point parking (now on both sides of the road has confused many.

I saw that you were hoping to do some routes at the top of the mountain. If it is in the 80's and you are in the sun and they have not yet locked the gate that allows you to go past the ski area to the very top you can still climb up there.

Good luck.

Thanks Eric

I did notice that mile marker guide and will print it out. I will be there next week, do you think there will be an issue or it will be to cold at the top of the mountain at that time?

are you aware of Cochise Stronghold?? you could at least drive in to the west entrance and spend a day scoping out the area.... very impressive. you might be able to snag a route even..

have fun.

yeah Spiro, at least do a day in Cochise. the wife and I cruised up "Endgame" if you wanted a long sport climb or go do the super classic across the way "Whats my line?"

fellas,

I did plan on a day in the stronghold. Place is amazing. I was looking at both those lines. With endgame i read you need double ropes to rappel? this true? If so that might knock it out for me. Is it a true 5.10? looks like a stunning line.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
