Anyone have details on the Ouray area (aside from Vics post) - looking to go play over there this weekend....

I believe it should of been by the tree, let me know if you grabbed it and I will buy you some beer, I live in Summit County. Thanks, I'll be up there this coming week. I'll let you know if I find anything, but I'm guessing with the impending snow it might get buried. Who knows though!

Re:Vail I walked up to Racquet Club not last weekend, but the one before. (Oct 28?) things were just barely starting to freeze, nothing that could hold any weight. We've had a bunch of warm days, but reasonably cold nights... i would expect it's about the same. If I get the time I'll stop by again and grab a photo.

Things are pretty non existent here in Ouray right now. Not a spot of ice on Ribbon/BBB....or really anywhere on Camp Bird Road. Lots of dry tooling routes in though.

Vail is still a ways off... some blobs here and there but nothing climbable. Anything in Officers Gulch yet?

Officers gulch does not have any ice except for a bit on three tiers which is pretty low angle.

Many thanks again to the guys doing the farming at Lincoln. I understand your desire to remain relatively anonymous, but I'd also like to say "thank you" in a more tangible way. If one or more of you would PM me, I'd like to provide you with some beer, gear or something similar.

I would be interested in hearing about Ridgeway, Ouray, Redstone, or Lake City... Basically anything other than the I-70 corridor or RMNP.

If Lincoln Falls is crowded, check out the South West side of Quandary Peak before the Blue Lake road gets snowed in for the season. Just hike 20-30 min to the Fletcher/Quandary saddle, there are some nice WI2-3 flows and mixed climbs that can be TR.

Looking at heading over to Lincoln falls this week, is there any forest land nearby to camp on?

I visited Mineral Creek in the Silverton area yesterday and found Campground Couloir was in.
^Creek crossing was safe and dry below Campground Couloir
^Campground Couloir, we placed stubbies and a few pitons
^CC Overview. First two pitches are worthwhile, 4wd gets you to the base of the route
^Direct North Face not quite there
^Should be in by the weekend.
Finally, Sundance looked climbable, but I would suggest getting on it sooner rather than later as temps in the low 40's and loads of sun exposure might make it unstable.
