Looking at set of the Verglas 8.1 ropes.
Anyone have experience with these ropes or the brand?

IMHO they are great ropes. I have had a pair for a few years now and they hold up well for such skinny lines.

I climbed on these ropes today on Alexanders Chimney! They had a great 'feel' to them! A very tight weave, but flexable and supple. I back em!

I've had a pair for over ten years. Great ropes, durable sheath. Nice soft catch, too... although maybe I should retire them at this point.

I've climbed a lot on a friends set. Really quite nice ropes. They seem pretty durable too.

I also like mine. I've only used them for rock climbing (not ice). They have a nice hand and have not shown any wear.

I love mine. I've had them for a few years now. The only thing that I have noticed is that they are exactly 60 metres long. Most manufacturers give you a little extra. I find that I have to stretch the pitches a bit on a rare occasion when others with 60 metre ropes have just enough.

Happy with mine too. One of them has a bit of fuzz, but nothing major. I've used them quite a bit over the past year.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
