Tried going up south crack today and at the base of the route saw bees shooting in and out to the crack just to the left of south crack, then went around to the back of pinnacle to the saddle between the two summits and there were more bees, loud enough to hear before seeing them buzzing every which way, just a FYI.

Thanks for the heads up..freaking hate bees. I've already had a REALLY bad experience with bees on PP already.
They should run a sticky thread in the AZ/NM forum about Bee conditions in the area. I have come across many (probably more than 10) colonies in the SW since my post "Mt. Lemmon Bee Attack 8/10/10" Climb safe out there, and keep your ears open, my friends. -Mackley TIP: I now carry a small, sea to summit, head net (can be deployed at the first sign of attack) conected to my harness ($8 at summit hut) to keep 'em out of my mouth, nose, ears, and eyes. I hope it never happens again but if it does atleast I will only be stung on the "outside." Belive me, if you get swarmed you would much rather them not get into your "head holes." It may be the difference between getting down and getting rescued.
