Hi, me and 3 friends are trying to find a place to camp in Yosemite Valley tomorrow (saturday) night. We can't make it to Camp 4 early enough to wait for a spot unfortunately. Sooooooo I was wondering if anyone who has a spot would be willing to share with 4 grateful beer bearing climbers?

Unless I'm missing something about the word "sharing", I don't think that'll work. The c4 ranger makes it pretty clear that everyone camping (over 3 y/o) has to be there with a photo i.d. to get a spot... but yeah, I'd share if I was there.

it's true you can't share in camp 4, but you might be able to find someone in the pines that will share with you, or shoot you might be able to find a site in one of the pines campgrounds that you guys can stay in for the night. I know they take reservations, but I don't know how far in advance you have to make them. Good luck.

Another idea, I don't condone this, but I've had crashers bring beer and just camp in our site. I didn't mind cause there was free beer and as long as your up and out before the rangers show up in the morning you'll be ok.

sleep in the turnout a mile or two down the evergreen road (towards hetch hetchy) Free and you're only 5 minutes from the park entrance. get up early and reserve a spot in C4. Otherwise bivy on yer ledge off the ground on El Cap.

Angie, head to the "camground reservations" in Curry Village at 7:30 AM and wait for it to open. At 8 am they will usually be able to give 1 or 2 spots to the first people in line, the rest get on a waiting list. Then at 3 you come back and they will almost always have a spot for you if you are in the first dozen or so people.

thanks everyone. i was not able to get to yosemite early enough to get a campsite (I wanted to, but my partner wasnt able to leave early enough to arrive at 7-7:30ish :/

we were able to get ourselves a wilderness permit, so all was ok in the end.

In the past, i've shared my reserved site with mountain projecters who couldnt get a spot, and was hoping some one who had a reserved spot might read it and do the same. i'm not detered from sharing again though! I actually had a great time with the people I met by sharing the campsite.

Climbing was great. just in time before the storm started. I hope everyone got in some good climbs this weekend!

HI!! Desperately looking for a campsite to share on May 26th and 27th. My girlfriend and I are doing a 3 week National Park trip on the west coast and just so happened to be in Yosemite on the busiest holiday weekend. We have a small 2 person backpackers tent. We love and will bring great craft beer and make breakfast!!

Check daily for campsites through recreation.gov. Often, spots will open up as people cancel. Check right up until your date. It works.

I second what Pat said, the backpackers walk in site near the Ahwahnee is nice and is probably your best chance for a spot in the Valley.

Another call for Valley campsite share... party of 3 rolling in Thursday PM or Friday AM and looking to team up with someone on a site in either of the Pines or Housekeeping, etc...

We're around until June 2nd and our objectives are mostly mid length moderate free climbs, working on new adaptive climbing techniques (one of us is a Para climber) and a bit of hiking, plus general Valley shenanigans

I have Verizon and tend to get reasonable service in the Valley

303 253 0104 text is great too

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
