Looking down on the wide slot at the end of the 3rd pitch. It looks small in the photo, but is actually squeeze size.
Topo for The Fine Line. I created this after an ascent in August 2008.

Don't touch that flake. Will it be there this time next year...?

That flake was gone when we climbed it in August. Definitely felt 11c getting through that section.

I thought the 11c section was ten or so metres higher up in a very blank part of the groove. On this lower section, I touched the flake and it moved so when I climbed past it I didn't use it at all and thought it was 11a. If it's 11c now it would suggest that something else has come off with it?

I thought that this section is now harder than the upper crux 10 or so meters higher, now that the flake is gone.

Interesting Ryan. Did you climb where my left rope is or the right rope? If you climb up sort of direct past a pin in the corner and a bolt a bit higher it's pretty hard. However just on the left, leading up to the ex flake there's a quite moderate crack - just where my lefthand rope is (as indeed Roger from Ouray suggests in the first comment). Or do you mean right there where I am in the photo? If so, something must have changed. It'd be good to know as I'd like to do FL again sometime.
