Thinking about climbing in Cala Ganone area of Sardinia late November. Few Q's for any peeps with A's

1. Travel from Alghero to Cala Ganone - possible by bus or other public transportation??
2. How's the weather for climbing this time of year?
3. Recommendations for climber friendly accommodations?

Thanks!

There's a bus and train service called ARST ( arst.sardegna.it/index.html ) that serves most of the island.

Rough Guides publishes an excellent travel guide to Sardinia that has good information on cheap lodging, like hostels and campgrounds.

Looks like car rental will be the easiest and most efficient (also surprisingly economical). I'm now looking for recommendations on inexpensive and climber friendly accommodations for Cala Ganone as well as weather input for climbing in late November preferably from those who have visited this time of year.

Cheers,
ilana

Hey Ilana, sorry I don't have anything to contribute in the way of knowledge but I am curious as to what you find out about accommodations and best method of travel in Sardinia. A friend and I have tentative plans to be out there around the same time as you actually, although I am not sure if we will be in Cala Ganone. My friend has climbed there before so I am letting her guide me around and I might be able to dig up some useful information from her. Either way, I would appreciate any knowledge you gain on traveling in Sardinia.

Cheers!
