Shipping a bouldering pad

Tried to ship a pad across the country and they wanted $70. Any ideas on the cheapest way to ship? Thanks

That's pretty cheap if it's a good carrier. Large items (even if they're relatively light) are pretty damn expensive to ship generally.

Depending on where it's going to/from, you might want to just post something up here, rockclimbing.com or CL.org and hope for an honest person to reply. Of course if it's coming from/going to obscure locations, that could be unlikely.
