New to Salt Lake

Just moved to Salt Lake City and looking for climbing partner(s). Currently free trying to nail down my job situation but in the mean time am open to climb where ever, when ever, with anyone who can competently belay. I prefer trad/multi-pitch but definitely don't mind clipping bolts or bouldering. Somewhere where I can bring my dog is ideal but I can leave him if I have to. Planning on meeting up with some CO friends October 20-27th in Indian Creek and trying to meet up with a buddy from WY at City of Rocks sometime in the near future too.

Cheers

Are you interested in driving to Red Rock or Zion National Park next weekend. I am competent to belay and follow 5.10. I also am very familiar with both areas. I can take a three or four day weekend.

Hi Matt -

I just moved to salt lake too and have been looking for partners. I'm a mediocre sport climber, but would be very interested in learnming more about gear placement and trad climbing. Shoot me a message if you ever wanna climb big cottonwood. And yes, I know how to belay

Matt and Miles,

I too am new to SLC and eager to find some folks to climb with and get back into climbing. I began climbing several years ago but the past few have kept me off the rock. :( The technique is still there but I need to get back in climbing shape to get back to where I was (sport 5.10+, V1 and exploring the rest,) and improve from there. I don't currently have much in the way of gear so I'm thinking bouldering is where I'll start. Have shoes, chalk, crash pad and friends? Will travel!

I'd like to get back to some sport climbing (about 5.8 I'd guess right now but I expect to improve on that quickly) and to leading/trad (I can belay competently, follow/clean routes.) I'm eager to train and to learn more and more. I have gone ice climbing a few times too. (Loved it!) I am a photographer and aiming to freelance with adventure sports and more in the future.

If either of you have an interest in catching up to climb a bit and see what happens, let me know. (Or if you know someone who may be a good match, please pass on my info or theirs.) I'm eager for tips on where to climb (or boulder for now) around here as well.

Thanks!

I have a rope, draws, extra harness, and a small crash pad. It sounds like were about the same level of climbing, so if you have a car, I'm down to climb anytime I'm not in class. My phone nomber is 925 876 6992, so if you or anyone else in SLC wants to climb, just shoot me a message

C-ditty, I'm down to hit red rocks more than Zion right now because I have a dog (which aren't allowed in Zion) I don't like to pawn off on my brother for that many days but red rocks could work. I've spent some time there as well. Great place! I got some loose ends to tie up and then ill let you know. In the meantime I'm around slc and would love to climb. Miles and panda, I'm climbing pretty easy after a summer of no climbing. I found that out today in little cottonwood. I'm free pretty much any day so if ur feeling like climbing hit me up I got a full trad rack, draws ropes and even a spare harness and a crash pad. Mostly I'm just trying to meet some cool people. You guys got my number eh!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
