I just received the stopper in the mail yesterday. I'm trying to plan a trip somewhere (hopefully the Gunks or Seneca).

Using the stopper to climb Birdsboro on gear :p In seriousness, I'd like to get in on this, so if that sounds good, or climbing some other less trafficked areas (Delaware Water Gap, Pondbank, Chickie's Rock, Ralph Stover) send me a PM. I'm in Philly, down to climb whenever possible (mostly weekends).
Lars, if you can get it next i'm down for helping ya on some obscure place around here.

Nick- if youre coming to the gunks I'm totally down to go explore some of the lesser know cliffs with you in an attempt to make the stopper story something special. There are great routes way off the beaten path, it would be cool to hit them up with the magic juju of the TS.

Well done recovery of the Brotherhood of the Traveling Stopper! Great nautical story there, steitz. I really enjoyed all of that more than the climbing.

Well, if you can write a report in less than 90 days, you break the world F'n record. But regardless, recall the O.P."

6) If you have not used it and posted within 4 weeks, expect to be harassed. This ain't the "Brotherhood Of the Sittin-In-The-Closet Stopper."

So far we got a buncha closet cases and no brotha's. Well, OK, Steitz kinda redeemed himself. But if we get anohter 90 day stage, the bogart'n holder has to climb with Elanor and post about it.

Hey, I know I've been delaying. I got out to climb a few times, but I havent used it. If I dont get a chance next weekend to climb I'll send it on without using it. I was hoping to get up to the gunks, but it doesnt seem like that will happen. And as for winter, I climb year round.
P.S. When threatened to climb with Elanor, I think I can manage to use it this weekend. It might not be the most thrilling climb, but I'll place it on something.

Boring!!!

Seriously, this thread sucks. Its a really great idea, but this stopper needs to go to people who actually climb, which seems to be close to nobody.

365 days, two trip reports, and WAY to many excuses.
Man or woman up you posers.

This has become the Brotherhood of the Dormant Lame Asses.

I'm sorry I don't climb enough to meet your approval. Unfortunately, living on the east coast makes it difficult to climb as much as I would like. I am about to break my number of pitches from last year though, so that's improvement.

The best part of this thread was when slk, stich, and I went on a LOTR tangent. Well, and the one guy with the sailing. That's not good!

Shit, man, this is pathetic!

Seriously, can somebody just put together a somewhat halfway interesting, completely climbing-related TR? Hell, just weld it into the rock and put us out of our misery of lurking this POS.

BTW, what size is this stopper, any way? was thinking it might be fun to take it for a ride on some uncharted rock here in NV (that is, if it truly exists, and the current user wants to send it off.)

Don't bother, it sounds like you'd know what you're doing and actually get out there, maybe make an interesting report out of it... Sheesh! This anniversary is DISMAL people!

My Turn. Send it back to the motherland. I'm no PUSS-TARD. This has been one of the best mixed seasons in CO and we are wasting are time on the East Coast!!!!!!

Sorry Cassondra, sand stone is soft rock, just like the climbing.

PM sent to cassondra.

Nick, you must like it soft too. I'm so glad you guys love the East Coast and the sand stone. PUSS-TARD!

Tony B, I think your vision was brilliant!

I've climbed all over, but that's beside the point. I chose cassondra because she doesn't sound like a douche.

Taylor-B. · · Valdez, AK · Joined Oct 2009 · Points: 3,186

All that douche we have been getting in Colorado froze over and it has been rado-bra! No really, I'm a D-Bag.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
