Hybrid Crampon w/ Vert Front Points?

Anyone know of a hybrid/newmatic/semiautomatic crampon, besides the Petzl Lynx, that has vertical front points?

I have a pair of La Sportiva Trango S GTX EVO boots that I'd like to use with some vertical front points. Unfortunately, these boots don't have a toe welt. Probably shoulda went with the Trango Extremes...

I've got a pair of 2011 Black Diamond Cyborg Clip with one year (4 outings, terrible ice season here last year) of use on them. Will fit boots w/out toe bail nicely. Currently set up as dual points and in great condition. Climbed WI5 with these no problem. Just got a new setup so PM me if interested in buying them.

You can put a wire bail on the Black Diamond clip crampons.

The plastic cradle on my Sabertooths fits my boots very poorly, but with the additional bail it's more secure than the pro binding. Just buy or salvage pretty much any brand of toe bail and it will work. In fact, you can make your own with some stainless rod and a pair of pliers. It's a win-win situation and much less expensive than the Lynx and its hybrid binding.

@JDouglass - Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't realize that the Cyborgs come in a clip version. Though I'm in the market to buy right now--just doing some due dilligence.

@Dobson - That's a good thought, but I'm going to try and keep things stock. I've tried before to modify my own equipment with pretty disappointing results. I suppose I'm just not got at that sort of stuff.

If I were in you position I'd buy the Lynx crampons that way when you figure out you'd rather have rigid boots for water ice you won't have to buy new crampons.

The lynx are great and they come with the nylon "contact clip" as well as the toe bail. That way, when you get a different pair of boots you can convert them back to the toe bail which is fully adjustable. Great crampon thus far!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
