I am going to be doing study abroad next year and have the option of going to France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Japan, or China. I know france has font but what is the bouldering scene like in the other countries?

Castle Hill!! Definitely. I know it's not in your list of countries but for future notice. . . check this place out. IT is located high in the Southern ALps of New Zealand's South Island. That place is. . . well, a spirtiual experience. Even if you don't climb this place will Blow You Away!
Have fun!

Those countries are big places...even the smaller ones on the list. Each country is likely to have places that are great, and places that are terrible. Asking about the climbing in China is like asking what the climbing is like in the US (the US has great climbing, but not in Kansas...).

Anyway, what area/city would you be in in each country?

In France I would be in Caen.
In Spain I would be in Segovia.
Italy I would be in Florence.
China I'm not sure.

The only area I am somewhat familiar with over there is Font. and that is three hours from Caen. Does anyone know of any other really good areas closer to these other towns?

Segovia has some good options.

La Pedriza, between Segovia and Madrid, is a very notable bouldering area.

It maps out climbing areas. Again, Segovia looks good.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
