Nerf gunz... LMMFAO there's no way your for real. I'm speechless. Now I understand the low/lack of budget. Where do you find a bunch of apparently grown-ass men to fire nerf guns at eachother?

Any Frat House or an NFL tailgate party for starters...
If that doesn't produce hoards, try a WWE match.

Huh. I think we'd rather go climbing than babysit and put wear on our gear for about the cost of the gas and lunch and a beer after. Nice try though...

And if this were a climbin project I could see someone being on board but... You got us with the nerf wars.

Good luck man.

Elena is very popular around here. You should seriously consider letting her have a significant part in your next episode. There are quite a few people around here that would love to see her act. It would most definitely increase the number of people that watch your next episode.

If people are going to be throwing and shooting eachother with stuff, getting Elena/Elanor/BigJuggsJ into the action also might help you recruit a great number of additional actors and riggers...

In all seriousness, if I was gonna be around I might give you a hand just for the chuckles, to see what is going on. But I wouldn't accept money for it, I'd just give you a hand and that would be that. However, I'm out of town for a while.

If im in it the movie can't be Ghey though and it has to be a dark comedy or something like that. I will do it for free if I like the movie. Seriously!

I'm in CT right now at work but im sure if I were to be able to get a plane ticket arranged I could make it out there with the gear... you guys are providing transportation at least, right? If not, maybe see if American Airlines will donate a plane ticket? I can be on the first flight out.

I was able to get it handled, actually, courtesy of a couple of good suggestions; there's a climbing instructor in Denver who's going to come help us out. Thanks very much to those here who took me seriously and provided the aforementioned suggestions; to the peanut gallery, I want to congratulate you on having found such a worthwhile use of your time as heckling people on the internet. Way to stick it to all the better things you could be doing.

My episode, Convoy Ploy, should be up by the end of September if anyone is interested enough to check it out.

Thanks!

I'd assume there's some serious liability involved in rigging for a film shoot. Not worth it for $50 or $80 bucks, IMO.

Hey Mike,

Sorry everyone is being a bit rude.

As many people here forget, Guideline #1 for posting in a MountainProject.com forum is: "don't be a jerk".

I respect your effort as a fellow film-maker, however, I must agree with the majority of posters here: you will have a lot of trouble finding a reliable and safe consultant on this site for the wage you're offering. The gear, the time and the hassle-factor alone is enough to pass on this one. Not to mention permits and insurance costs to cover the inherent liability.

And as many have mentioned, for most of us here at mp.com, any day off of work is better spent actually working on a climbing project than filming a nerf war.

I'd try contacting a local university rec center. They sometimes have staff who have access to the gear and may help out, especially if one of your team is a student there... may need more notice though.

Good luck!

-Jon

Do your research next time kid...One search of the forums here and you would have seen the blazing you were lining yourself up for... This peanut gallery is chock full of nuts!

On a more serious note....try out some Hand Sand....come Sept. you should be damn well ready to go.

This statement is proof that you do not understand what you're getting into. You're not going to be able to get the shots you want by placing your people and gear in one place and leaving them there for the entire shoot. And, it's going to require more than tying a few knots.

Anyone responsible enough to do this safely would not be sitting back relaxing while a bunch of people who have no idea what they are doing are hanging at the edge of a cliff for several hours.

I understand the budget situation but you're talking about peoples' lives. If you can't afford to hire a guide for the day, you can't afford to take the risk.

Not sure the exact land management for the area in question.

But anytime you pay someone to rig climbing gear most land managers require that they have a permit to do so.

So if you can't afford a guide service then you really need to ask for volunteers.

Making people laugh and having a good sense of humor are not always the same thing...
