I think his name is Jason. Met him and his partner Tom on route. Both from Sheridan.

Just trying to get some info to him or Tom.

Thanks in advance.

WIth a beard like that, glasses and that look I would say he is better left alone. Kind of fellow who might keep a shotgun inside the door.

Tread carefully.

What a Beard-o!

I'm not dangerous J Hazard, except I've been known to drink the last beer and woo the beautiful women.

It looks like it on the map, but Ranchester definitely has more shotgun packin', Slayer listenin' hooligans than those other civilized places.

yeah, I know it's different. The only thing I used to do is stop for an occasional meal in one of those small towns on the way to Bear Lodge or Antelope Butte ski area. How's that for dating myself????

What's closed??? The "Y" or Antelope Butte???? Either way that sucks!!!!

The Butte, its been closed for a few years now. There is a small local movement to get it reopened, but as I understand it, financing a ski area is quite costly. All the lodges are still operating though.

Do Bear Lodge and Arrow Head mostly live on snow machining in the winters? I can't believe Butte is closed. That was such a huge part my early life. Though I graduated SHS in '87, so it's been a while.

PS, is Homer Scott still in town? I went to school with his son Jim. If you can talk Jim into skiing, Homer would probably open the ski area.. Just a thought..;)

Yep snow machining is what keeps them open, and the Scott's are still around but seem to have very little interest in the ski area, they are probably too concerned with the downturn of the Powder Horn to care.

Hopefully so.

That looks like a reasonable local movement. I'd love to see it open again. I might even have to make another trip back there to celebrate its grand opening.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
