Booty on the Line after the rescue

Original Post

I had to leave an orange mastercam, gold DMM offest nut, and several biners on the line to get down to my friend who took a ground fall. Thought I'd see if anyone picked it up. I will gladly pay for shipping and some beer.

Thanks!

Can we start another booty argument thread?

What is with climbers these days expecting people to go return their gear for them. You could have just gone up after work the next day and got it back. Its fair game and your sense of entitlement is annoying, back in our day climbers wouldn't just expect to get it back. What else am I missing?

Oh hope your friend is okay.

Everyone wants to be the new Yarp. It's all the rage.

Pretty standard- especially for gear that was left because of a rescue/injury. Maybe there were circumstances in which he could not return. Maybe he didn't have a partner to belay him to help retrieve it after an accident. Maybe someone bootied it later that day before he could get back up there. Why are you being such a cantankerous shitbird in every thread you choose to comment on? "What is with climbers these days" like you're fifty or something. You sound like you're 15 with all your angst-ridden combative bullshit.
Well done Jake. I think your post about covers what needs to be said to Derek.

Rob, I hope you get your stuff back and I hope your friend recovers well.

Your missing the part about his friend being rescued. Wrong thread to make your statement.

I think a resuce is the one time everyone agrees upon for the return of bail gear.

And as J Hazard said..."Classy".

Hahaha angst ridden bullshit??? And what was your post exactly Jake? You seem WAY more worked up about this than me. Calm down, take a deep breath and try not to be so sensitive lil guy.

That's "typically" the type of thing people say when someone is hurt in an accident.

Your sympathy is overwhelming.

Rob - I'd hope that whoever got on the line after you knew that was not booty, but retreat from a fall or to help a fallen climber. Best of luck gettting it back.

Also, I don't know why I'm getting sucked into the trolls of this Derek alias or whatever it is, but I think I can't take his shit anymore on this site. 2 weeks of nothing but troll posts.

I don't know what day you were in back when, but back in my day you would have pummeled to witin an inch of your life for such douchebag comment. What else are you missing - civility, brains, manners, social acceptability.....

OP - Hope you get your gear back and your friend recovers quickly.

Sorry about your friend hope he is ok. Sounds like you reacted quickly and intelligently--the only positive is you may be more prepared if it happens again higher up. Our lives really are on the line.

Yes, mocking an accident is especially scummy. You gotta ignore the non-contributor pricks though, they'll just come crawling pathetically back when they get banned anyway.

Whoever recovered it should definitely give the gear back to these good samaritans.

Same here. I'll gladly throw a couple biners your way.

Third that! You don't get it back I will give you something off my rack. And I will wish bad karma on whoever took it (and Derek too).

Huh. Well CJC, I apologize for razzing you the other day on one of the other "leaving gear" threads. Your post is downright generous. Cheers.

Yeah kinda nice for once, huh?

Plus, when Jake started off his initial response with the word "prickface" I smiled heartily. Prickface; what a great word....its gotta be up there with "douchenozzle" as terms that are really fun to say.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
