Rainy weather climbing in the Dacks

We will be in the Adirondacks to climb next week. It looks like there might be some rain for a couple of days.

Do you have suggestion for routes that might stay dry or dry quickly?

Thank you.

The Dack's are a big place, if you could tell me where you will be I can be of some help. Also at what grades do you climb, because mostly the higher grades tend to stay dry. Let me know if I can help.

The Spider's Web is overhanging and SW facing, so it's usually a good bet. Same with Pitchoff Chimney Cliff.

+1 for the web staying dry, but get ready to man up that cliff is stiff

Spider's Web is certainly overhanging. However, it's not that steep and there are no overhangs to protect the face. You'd have a small window if it just started raining, but if it's been raining all day you're SOL. On the upside it'll dry out quickly.

Pooler: We'll be staying in the Keene Valley area; trad up to 5.9, sport up to 5.10c. But we're there for a week so if it's raining, I don't mind flailing on harder single pitch and/or driving a while.

Thanks.

If you're in Keene Valley and it's raining don't get too discouraged - it's one of the wetter places in NY. Forecast next week looks more like scattered showers but not a washout... so it will probably rain at least a bit around Keene Valley, but will probably not be as wet outside the High Peaks... try Poko or the Lake George area if you want to escape to drier weather.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
