Wrist injury. Strained tendon?

earlier this week i woke up with a pretty sore wrist after a bouldering session the day before. My right wrist is sore on the lower right side (ulna). it felt sore to rotate it clockwise (i.e. get into an undercling position). after 3 days of RICE the pain/soreness was minimal so i went back bouldering. warming up was a bit rough, but after that i climbed fine. I did climb with my wrist taped up to limit movement. well, now its the next day and the same soreness is back. im back on the RICE program now haha.

my question is, is this most likely a tendon issue? I was thinking of taking a prolonged break this time. Does anyone else have experience with this type of injury? Any words of advice? (please dont say go see a doctor)

Hey M,
It could be any number of things. The wrist is very complex.

I had an issue last year on the same side of the wrist as you.I ended up with a TFCC tear which is a really shitty injury.I ended up getting surgery for it last May and while it's better, it seems it will always be an issue.Do a google search for the symptoms(TFCC tear).I would see a doc if things don't improve as you don't want to make it worse if there is something seriously wrong with it like I did last year.

Good luck!
