Anyone have a climbing guide service you would recommend?
|
I'm making a trip out to Colorado in a couple of weeks to do some hiking, climbing, biking, etc. I'm a pretty competent climber, but I've only really had the opportunity to climb in places when I can set up a TR. I know I don't have the knowledge to safely do some multi-pitch climbing, so I'm considering going with a guide service to not only learn, but to make sure I have an awesome time. |

Eli's great, for sure...Joey Thompson at Colorado Mountain School is really fun for rock (and works at CMS, which has the only permit to guide in the Park), and Markus Beck with Alpine World Ascents is super competent, too. |

Go with Andy, and score some DL beta while you are there too! |

Colorado Mountain School has a bunch of great folks and they definitely can cater to including a good amount of instruction in a climbing day. I'm hoping that you bring some cooler weather w/ ya, it's been hot out this way. |

+1 for Eli. My wife & I hired him last month & had a blast. It was more a coaching session than just guided climbing, but I highly recommend him. |

Awesome, thanks for all of the suggestions! They all look like great options, so would anyone suggest a certain area over another? I'd love something with a lot of exposure and some serious height. I'm used to Devil's Lake, never getting more than 100' off the ground haha. |

Eldo, brudda! Have JoeyT take you up the Yellow Spur--you'll be STOKED. |

Agreed on Yellow Spur or something similar as the most classic CO multi-pitch routes...with an early start we can beat the heat. |
