Description Suggest change

West and South facing crag. 150' formation overlooking the Peralta Trail. A beautiful location with amazing views of the Supes, including Geronimo's cave.

Getting There Suggest change

Park at the Peralta trailhead. Begin the approach on the Dutchman Trail (104) until it splits at a Y with the Bluff Springs Trail. Go left onto Bluff Springs Trail. Stay on BST to the Cave Trail. The turnoff to the Cave trail is not marked, however, once on the trail, it is extremely well cairned. To locate the Cave Trail, after passing a saddle on BST, watch up and left for 3 balanced rock type formations (see photo below). Head toward these, pass by them on the left and you will now be on the Cave Trail. Continue on this good trail, it will bring you to The Fortress from the south side. Total approach time is approximately 1 hour.
