My Miuras are size 46, I use them for hard trad (thin cracks/slab/edging). I want an all day shoe, which I do not consider my Miuras to be (the biggest size the come in is a 46). The TC Pro sounds like the perfect shoe, but if the 46 is sized similarly to the Miura 46 then I don't want em (I have yet to find a shop that carries the TC Pro in the biggest size!). I may have to order em from Zappos or someone that does free return shipping just so I can try them on.

looking for an all-day hard trad shoe as well and in a similar situation having a hard time finding shoes big enough. Out of curiosity, what size are your street shoes? I'd be interested to hear what you find.

I wear a 48 in the Scarpa Zen, and a 14 in Adidas, 13 in Timberland, 13 in Vans, 13 in clarks. Hope that helps so in summary a 13 or 14 depending on brand. I see plenty of other tall climbers out there, and I rarely find shoes my size on sale (maybe cause all the retailers quit carrying my size, including REI!!!). I've been looking at the Five Ten Newton, but on steep routes where you still need to get a lot of rubber on the rock (liebacking, greasy finger cracks, etc.) I don't want an overly stiff shoe. Wish I could get a pair of miuras in a 46.5 or 47??? Did they make the Scarpa Techno in a 47 or 48??? that would be an interesting shoe to try out. I have a pair of oversized Mythos, but they are so soft that finger cracks wreck my toes and they don't edge very well.

Miurra last is going to be "more pointy" than the TC Pro last. However, they do seem to fit similarly. I wear a semi comfortable 44 in Miurra (toes somewhat bent but not horrible) and wear a 44 in tC pro as well. The TC Pro is a bit more comfortable in the same size. A 44.5 TC Pro gets my toes flat and will be an all day shoe for me. Since it doesn't get any larger than a 46 I'd say try it. They do fit a TAD looser than a Miurra and the wider toe box makes them more comfortable as well. Note too that the will stretch during break in. I had a 44.5 and it stretched enough for me to drop to a 44 for a more "performance" fit on shorter climbs.

I've had similar experiences with mattm. I wear a 39 in the Miura (lace up--not sure if they're sized different than the velcro) and have tried on 39s in the TC Pros. They fit OK if I wanted something tight for short routes/bouldering, but pressed down too much on the top of my toes (as if they had a really flat, thin toe box) to think I could wear them comfortably on longer routes. My opinions may change if I actually get to try a pair of 39.5s, but that's the size I'm thinking I'll get.

My street shoe is a 13/14, I wear about the same in Mountaineering Boots. I wear size 46 Muira VS for Gym/Bouldering/Short hard stuff but they're too painful to keep on all day. My Size 46 TC Pros I can keep on and climb all day long just fine. It's not as comfy as wearing Mythos all day long, but you get way better performance. I know there are differences in fit between the (Velcro) VS and the standard lace up Muira, so not sure which you've got and it makes a difference as I think the VS is more down-turned and aggressive whereas the lace-up is not as down-turned. As to where to find your size, I got lucky and found mine used (one time) and returned to a store, but I've bought size 46 and 47 La Sportiva direct (most recently the Ganda) and had good luck.

My Muira VS are 42 or 42.5 and my TC pros are 43 FWIW.

I wear my Muiras in a size 42, and my TC Pros in a 42.5. They are both perfect for their designated purposes (harder single pitches vs. all day comfort). I'd say only go up a half size unless you're one of those sickos that sizes their shoes ungodly tight.

I wear a 13 street shoe and I found the 12.5/46 TC Pro sizing to be nice and snug. I've put about 40 pitches on these (mostly multi-pitch routes) and haven't actually tied the laces yet - I'm using them like slip-ons since the rest of the shoe fits my foot so well. YMMV.

size 39 miura lace ups/velcros for sport ... i use 39.5 katana velcros as all day trad shoes ... toes are flat in the latter ... i prefer the katanas for the pointier toe and the cheaper price ... i usually get one resole outta them at least

I have somewhat comfy Muiras at size 40. My toes are curled right up, but I use them for all-day trad routes and I'm not ripping them off at every belay. I am waffling between a 40 and 40.5 in TC Pros. In 40.5 my big toe is completely flat and I can almost wiggle it. They still edge like mad, though.

Size 13 street shoes, with narrow feet, 43.5 and 44.5 Miuras. I was planning to size up TC's to 45, but the shop didn't have them, went w/44.5 and am happy. Felt good out of the box and after 2 full days and several shorter outings they are fast approaching all day comfortable.

13 street shoes. 45 Miuras, snug but not painful, take them off at each belay on multi-pitch routes. 46 TC Pros, comfy, can wear them with a thin liner sock if it's cold out.

How would you compare the Five Ten Grandstone to the TC pro or Miura? I can get a size 13 for a good price, but i'm not sure if it's a shoe that will get me up 5.10 (hard for me!) finger cracks.

Here's my data: Miura: 44. Too tight. Miura: 44.5. Perfect. TC Pro: 44.5. Initially tight, but, pocketed out a bit and fit was perfect. TC Pro: 45: Initially snug but have loosened up. Almost too loose but super comfy all day shoes.

Looking for a little help in sizing some TC pros. Unfortunately I am not close to any places that carry them to size in person. Miura VS - 41.5 toes curled, uncomfortable enough to warrant taking them off after each sport pitch (only wear them sport cragging) (also FWIW - considering selling these once I get TC pros) Mythos - 41.5 toes flat, my current trad shoe, have stretched to barely shy of all day comfort TC pro - I'm thinking either a 41.5 or 42, definitely want my toes flat and to feel comfortable but don't exactly need all day comfort since I've got the mythos for that Thoughts/advice?

TC Pros DEFINITELY stretch 1/2 size, so get them the same size as your tight Miuras and they'll be great after a few pitches, IMHO.
