The valley is getting hot, the rangers are annoying, and soon I will have climbed all the good routes in tuolumne. So where should i go bumming in my van next? I was thinking squamish or CO. I haven't been to either. I'm mostly a trad climber. things the are important to me are: van dwelling friendly easy to find partners not hot (I'm extra sensitive so if it is a little hot it's too hot) nearby bouldering nice cragging and nice multipitch not crowded nice people and environment cheap groceries nearby what do you think?

CO is awesome, but Squamish is exactly what you described. Partners, bouldering, cool weather, super fun relaxed cragging and big multi pitch walls, awesome rock quality, very cool climber scene. Not packed like Yos at all. It's just the definition of chill.

Squamish Colorado is not van friendly, no good cragging or bouldering, it is way hot, impossible to find partners, super crowdwed, people are not friendly......... Yeah, head north......

huh...I thought people would have nicer things to say about where they are from! Ok, someone said it's hot in CO, so because of that I'm going to Squamish, but I'm still curious about bumming in CO another time. What time of the year is the best time to climb in CO? And what areas is this for? I'm already aware that Boulder is very van unfriendly, but is this the same for the rest of CO? What about other areas, like Golden for instance, or somewhere near RMNP or black canyon? I was reading a thread about how much people love living in Colorado and it made me want to check it out. Is it really that CO is only for weekend warriors with weekly jobs and their own houses to sleep at?

I'll be in Colorado after July 15 :) Looking for people in the South Platte/Boulder area for some partners on sport mostly, but whatever. Yosemite sounds fun and I"ll get there one day. Nelson and I climbed in Red Rocks and it was so fun - multipitch is great! Maybe see ya around Jack!

These guys are crazy!! CO is the fashizzle dizzle!!! There are tons of places that are Van friendly, although Boulder is not one of them. We have tons of climbing up high in the mountains where it will be cool all summer long! Come on down and visit!! It is wicked easy to find partners for all types of climbing! Dave
