Sport Climbing tree, need some advice
|
Im building a top roping/ sport climbing tree in my back yard on a big white oak and need some advice on how to bolt/screw in the hangers. we used 6inch grade 5 lag screws and the threads or the screws wouldn't hold and came out when mildly over tightened, by hand. we are using hangers with a 3/8ths hole. I cant seem to find anything online to help out so i figured id go here. I'd appreciate any advice I can get. |

There is no way your stripping a 6" lag in white oak by hand... Save the tree and climb some rock:) |

Congrats. You bolted a 5.2 into a tree that will be fun to climb. Once. |

Yeah, seriously lame idea. Leave the tree alone. |

Put the lag screws back in and give the tree some time to grow and seal up the holes. |

sack up and climb it without adding a jug every foot. |
