So I just got done school for the summer and have moved back home to Bristol, Vt. Most of my climbing buddies are either up in Johnson, Vt or out west so I am in search of some new people to become friends with and climb with as much as possible. I unfortunately do not have my own rope as of right now but do have a set of draws, cordelette, lockers and a static. I can lead on sport 5.10 and can follow trad around the same but I am just down to get out and go climbing. So if you are in around and want to climb in Bolton or go up into the notch or anywhere else (I'd love to drive down to rumney, cathedral, farley or the likes on a weekend) please get ahold of me. Im 22 and certainly enjoy my beers after climbing.

So, heres to making new friends and climbing buddies!

Hey Jsimon,

I work in Burlington and try to get out to Bolton as much as I can on the weekdays (usually after 4pm). Shoot me an email if you want to climb when it isn't so wet outside!

Hey! I am new to the area and would like to meet some climbers to get out as well. When the rain stops I will email you too if that is cool?

Sweet ya lets get after it. Do you climb on the weekends? If not should we try to get out on Friday? I could probably be out there by 5ish.

Jsimon and Howell, there is a Burlington based climber facebook group that is used for local partner finding. If either of you is interested here is the link: facebook.com/groups/2475200…

I'm mostly in the Burlington/Bolton area and when it's dry I try to climb after work - see my profile page for email. Hoping to get out this afternoon or tomorrow, in fact. Mostly 5.8-5.10 trad, but would like to be working some more on the sport side of things. Also am partial to the ADKs or White Mtns and like to get a few weekends in over in those parts, once things dry out and the bugs aren't too bad. Shoot an email whenever.

Hi my name is Ryan (left of center). I am looking for some one to climb with on a regular basis. My goal is to dirt bag the summer away climbing and what not. I have many good climbing partners that I can only climb with at the end of the work day. Looking for 5.8 5.9 trad climbers or (sport climbers not a huge fan) will climb with. Must have a sound understanding of the sport and being safe or a desire to learn. If you can climb more than half a week you should get a hold of me. Looking to climb Lake gorge and the Adirondacks, Cannon, Whitney Gilman and a few other classics. Mostly I climb out of Bolten, vt. Please contact me or reply asap. Climb On!

Sounds like someone in this thread needs to get themselves set up with a top-rope solo rig. (PM me for details if you need the hardware)

Shenanigans can be every part of speech.

I just noticed on the guideline rule #1 don't be a jerk.... I have met so many people who climb who have been so full of themselves. Hot shot muscle bound 5.10 plastic shredders (Gym Climbers) with egos bigger than their grasp of climbing. Way bigger then respect for nature or even fellow humans. Having said that I would never climb with the type of people bashing me for wanting to climb more or critiquing any thing that is not your way of doing things. Come on does grammar really matter when you are pushing through a crux? I am not a 5.10 climber. So what? It is the love for climbing and being outside. What is wrong with all you climbers who hate. You climb your routes and I will climb mine. This is the first time I have interacted with MP. Some have made this experience less then desirable. So if you don't have any thing nice to say go send a 5.11. I am just looking for more climbing and decent people to do it with to share the experience with and learn. Big headed climbers need not reply. Can't wait for this weather to pass. -Climb on! p.s. Thank you to the people who did not bash me! Dave didn't any one tell you if you don't have any thing nice to say, keep you big mouth shut. Hope to see you out there! -Crag Monkeys lots of them.

Didn't shenanigans close a couple years ago? I thought they burned down. Sad. What's white river junction without the only strip club? I guess people just drive down to Manchvegas now.

Dude got called out! I love it!

Yikes! What has happened to the State with the Man With A Plan, Bernie Sanders and Ben and Jerry? Please everyone just relax. Let's just all go to the Gorge, or reasonable facsimile down your way Nick, and swim in the buff together. That will break down some barriers!

Please someone get out and climb with Ryan. Let's not get hung up on the internet personae thing. The man wants to climb. What more does one need? I am willing to bet that he is a pretty reasonable guy in person.

Geez my climbing calendar is pretty full with plans for New Hampshire, Daks and the Gunks. However if needed I would answer the call and see if my old 70's and 80's Vermont Mojo could salve some wounds and heal some spirits.

Folks look around, take a deep breath, get centered and rope up with Ryan! Take a risk.

Don't want to have to come up there and have to do the whole shaman thing. Healing ceremonies take a hell of lot of energy, all the flying apart and coming back together again stuff and the long hours, and I'm not getting any younger. Not to speak of the time, effort and money involved in getting my Oanga Bag together. Life is way too short too be fussing and fighting my friends.

Nick depending as you as the local guru up there on you to seize the initative take the first step!

There's a strip joint around here called "Club Castaway." It's in a little town called Hatfield.

It's like this: farm, farmstand, farm, farmstand, farm, farmstand, stripjoint, farm, farmstand, farm, farmstand.

PS: Ryan, can you climb Thursday & Friday?

Anonymous · · Unknown Hometown · Joined unknown · Points: 0

Or Sara or tim or mike or anyone on this godforsaken thread?
Does not ANYONE on this forum have THUR AND FRI off?

Geez Louise.

Can't find my knees.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
