Cheap Libation Options?

Me and a friend are coming out to Estes Park area for a couple weeks of climbing in a few days, and we have everything planned out to the T...from gear, to food, to places to stay...ETC.

We were just chatting about the trip, though, and the topic of cheap beer came up and we realize "holy shit, there are no Stewarts stores in Colorado!!" And no Stewarts means no Mountain Brew...which is a real damper on the trip. For those of you unfamiliar with Mtn. Brew (officially known as Mountain Brew Beer Ice), it is a beer sold by Stewarts convenience stores for about 50 cents a can...and truly is "not bad."

Since we are complete dirtbags who are practically stealing money from our elderly and most likely senile parents to fund the trip, we're not gonna be able to afford any of the tasty micro-brews out there that we'd love to enjoy.

So I was wondering if there were any fellow dirtbags out there who have any advice on what is the best cheap beer, or a good cheap whiskey to get when we're out there? Does Colorado have it's own rendition of the Mtn. Brew?

Pibbers has always been my go-to for cheap beer. Budweiser puts rice in their beer, which is lame, and the Coors empire was pretty instrumental in founding the anti-environmental "wise use" movement, so fuck those guys. PBR it is.

Deltron: Beer30 actually exists??? I've heard of it through myth and lore, but have never actually seen it in person. Is it really something like 5 bucks for a 30 rack or something outrageously cheap?

$9 for Beer 30 here in WI. But theres an even cheaper alternative. Boxer is $9.00 for a 36 pack

And for the record. They are horrible unless your have already numbed your tastebuds over the years drinking it.

I would imagine most of us were on the Blue Ribbon Bandwagon while the moustache tight pants wearing hipsters were still in elementary school. They'll move onto something else and we'll still be here drinking our beloved Pabst.

Bang for the buck it's one of the best.

For the low budget swill I go for Strohs - 9.99 for a 15 pak.

Agree usually on PBR, but my local grocery store had a case of something called Buck Light' for $5.50 each. Got loaded up so to serve this cheap swill when the parties die down in the last hour or so alll summer.

Exactly right. Plus it's in the clear for the fucking pussies so hip they're worried about being perceived as such.

Simpler Times: a beer hearkening back to a time when taste didn't matter that much.

My vote goes for Coors Banquet. It's usually between 19 and 23 dollars for a 30-pack, and it's delicious AND nutritious. A banquet in every can (read: replace those pesky food calories with BEER calories!)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
