one competitive cyclist* but zero triatheletes, no. No runners.

Two points- first, hardcore athletes in those genres also do have nicer bodies than most of the population, yes.

BUT (second)... cyclists/runners build very different bodies than climbers. I prefer the type built by climbers, swimmers, break dancers/ballerinos, parkour freaks.... you get the idea.

anybody remember that survey where they asked men and women to rate a series of athletic pursuits by attractiveness? And women rated guys that rock climb as #1 or #2, something really near the top. but men rated yoga, aerobics, zumba, anything nonthreatening at the top of the list and rock climber chicks way at the bottom. welcome to the real world. i laffed.

This is a funny thread. Here's the thing. I know a few single females who climb pretty hard and I don't think they are looking to be "wooo'd" I think they are just looking for real people that they get along with and are attracted to.
Me, my S.O. isn't a climber. But she accepts the fact that I am, and I accept the fact that she isn't. And we do pretty well, since we are pretty independent. The hardest part is just that everything needs to be scheduled and not spontaneous, but we get by.
Better to be scheduled and have a good relationship than be spontaneous and with some climber you don't have a solid relationship with.
