+1!

Any new on the Android app? I'm eagerly awaiting it.

It would be nice to sort routes based on protection. Trad/sport/mix/boulder.

I would love it if the button to view the GPS coordinates on the map kicked into the actual google maps app, instead of a map pane. The current implementation makes it really hard to get driving directions to crags.

News feed in the phone app? I love that feature in they web page and would be nice to have a centralized climbing news system in my phone.

I haven't found this out there yet, but wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't been brought up.

In the app, we need a way to quickly see the type of climb it is in the area... like getting the highlighted red on the website on the left menu of the climbs listed in an area of whatever you want. It's a pain to go to a new area and have to click through down to the route to see if it is trad/sport etc.

Bookmarking sub-areas and routes from downloaded area while out of service is not working very well. For example, I have the entire "Moab area" downloaded and tried bookmarking "Island in the Sky", but every time I go back to the app, it won't be in my bookmarks.

Also, would it be possible not to download images by default or download sub-areas? I was in the limited cell coverage and was trying to look up stuff in Turkey Rocks, but the app won't allow me without downloading the entire South Platte data...

Beta app is working great.
Please add a way to upload pictures from the phone. If we are already bringing camera phones with the application on it to crags, then uploading route photos would be much more likely and thus increase the quality of beta for each climb. Incorporating the embeded gps data many phone pictures include would be a bonus, but not necessary.

For those that didn't see the call for beta testers:

I updated the Mountain Project app (to Version 1.2, Build 22) onto my iPhone4 yesterday. It appears that I can access the forums, but I can't access any of the crags that I have downloaded. They all say "An import error occurred. Tap to retry". I have tried "tapping to retry" several times, deleting an area and reinstalling it, and adding a new area. I am able to delete an area, but when I reinstall it (or install a new area) I get the same "An import error occurred. Tap to retry" notice. I get the same message when going to the "Updates" section and trying to update there.

Furthermore, when I look at my personal page everything is zeroed out (e.g., "My Ticks", "My Todos", "My Star Ratings"). When I try to "Sync My Stuff", it appears as if its working, but nothing has updated.

What has happened?

Jason, I know this is lame, but you might have to delete and reinstall the app. Sounds like the database is hosed.

Allright. I'll give it a shot. OUCH!

App is working pretty good, and the forums are cool. I found a couple bugs though:

-High Sierra section won't download, it keeps coming up with an error and saying tap to retry.

-I can browse and read posts fine, but when I try to post it ends up taking me to the full website version of the forum which is no longer formatted for the iphone.

Thanks for the update! Great app overall!

Improvement suggestion:

iphone 4s, app V 1.2 (Build 22)

1:
I added a few areas (JT, yosemite, ca ones)
Shut down app
restarted app
Went to remove the Grand Tetons, hit done.
Tried to open JT, and got an error message about waiting for the data store update to finish.

Adding a busy indicator would be nice. Between My Areas and Get More button maybe?

2:
Open app, click on forum, click on General Climbing. If I want to go back up to general climbing, I tend to look to the upper left and hit that button, rather than the backward/forward buttons. So I'd probably move that functionality there, if its possible. I know that's a pretty big change though.

Anyone know why it won't let me sync my stuff on the Droid app? I keep getting "An error occurred. Please try again" as a message. Have tried reinstalling etc... nothing seems to work. Pretty bummed!

Would it be possible to implement a sorting option in "my todo's" such as:
Sort by area, grade, rating, a-z, z-a, and maybe number of personal ticks.

Also, android app doesn't remember any of my bookmarks.

Seems to remember bookmarks for a while, then loses them. Not sure what might trigger it, but will try to watch. I've lost mine twice.

my bookmarked climbs disappear once the app is closed and reopened
