Is it possible to relax in Vedauwoo?

Think about a brief stop at the Woo. Would like a peaceful camping experience for the brief stop. Is this possible or should I bring a handle of something spicy to drowned out the partying?

Conversely, are there any alternative camping options (i.e. backpacking a short distance)?

Thanks in advance!

Vedauwoo has some killer camping

Depends on the day. Made a brief stop over memorial day weekend last year and there was only one other climbing party and a few other campers. Nobody within throwing distance of us. Maybe we got lucky?

Any suggestions for avoiding loud groups? Which seems to be a theme with the comments & reviews I've found.

@DallinG: there's always hope that I'll get lucky too. Good to know & so thank you.

The Blair area is super nice with rock, aspen trees, creeks and fields. Good rolling mountain biking and good trad climbing. Kind of removed from main Vedauwoo. Go get it.

We went a few years back in July and there was hardly anyone else there. It was one of the most relaxing camping/climbing experiences I've had, and after all the rough wide cracks that we were cramming ourselves into each day we were tired enough to appreciate the lack of a "scene".

I have camped there several times during the week and it has always been super chiller.

You have a lot of freedom in choosing your site location there, even near the base of some sweet formations. It's not too hard to avoid crowds, especially if you aren't picky about your spot.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
