Whats up with this weather coming in? NOAA shows it not looking too favorable for the weekend... what do you guys think?

I'm probably still going to go. Looks like the rain will come at night if it does at all.

Mike- i like a 24" pry bay with one end notched. The blow tube may be harder to find, the best ones look like a short turkey baster.

See you all Saturday

I hear a new gazebo has/will be built, so we can hide from rain.

Thanks John. I'll try and pick something up on my way out of town. Do you know if it's faster to cut through canon city or take I-25 down towards Walsenburg? I found some plastic tubing for a blow tube. Hopefully the weather will turn out better for us than the forecast here in C Springs. I look forward to catching up with the group and helping out

Some rain and stuff passing through now. Saturday looks better, only showers. Bob and a few others are there now.

Going Canon city can be a bit slow. i think Walsenberg/160 is better. You can head north out of Monte Vista or Del Norte, both have signs for the canyon.

I just talked to Bob, he says the sky is clearing. A few sprinkles but going away. Should be nice tomorrow with occasional shower. There are eight or nine parties in the campground tonight, and the sushi tent is up. I'll be there bright and early.

Gorgeous day in the St. Luis Valley. As we are pulling in it is Sunny to partly cloudy, probable showers in the afternoon. Great day for some trail work and old hardware replacement. Come on down....

It was very exciting to help and learn and improve a special place this weekend. Thanks to all who helped out and donated some elbow grease to clean the place up, the companies for donating the hardware, beer, food, and climbing gear, and to those who put this great event together. If you didn't get the chance or didn't want to make the effort, I would have to say that you truly missed a special opportunity. Can't wait for the next one

Can anybody do strength tests on the worn hangers? It would be really interesting to know how much strength remains (AKA factor of safety).

Thanks everyone for the hard work. Penitente is a unique and lovely climbing area, that I have benefitted from for many years. I'm very happy to see that it is being loved.

SO much got done in spite of some not so good weather. Lots of new chains and hangers and such. Great time and making it an annual thing would be awesome.

Big props to the BLM (you should see the improvements) and of course Bob and mike, the crazies !!!

SUSHI-- nature, you are whacked !

Mike, I assume those 2 really bad shuts were from Mr. Wind? That is just scary! Thanks for all your help and patience with teaching us about good bolting. Peni has needed this for a while.

Definitely glad we made the trip. We met alot of great people and learned alot about equiping and maintaining routes. Special thanks to the organizers and to those who took the time to teach us about bolt maintenance.
