What does everyone think of adding unnamed routes to areas on the site? If a lot of people did so, would it lead to clutter?
Recently I've been discovering lines here and there that I don't feel like I have the ability to climb, but that still look quite climbable. I've had the urge to post their descriptions and a vague +,- hypothetical grade from what I can gather from the route (how much of it I can send/slap at, how it looks compared to other hard routes, etc), but I've been reluctant to do so because I'm not sure if it would be considered a good use of MP.
I searched "project" and returned a ridiculous amount of routes with the title. Most of them were variations to established boulder problems or otherwise useless junk, so I chose to disregard some of what the search feature returned. After all, anyone can throw any kind of bullshit on this site, and they do. I'd like to avoid doing so.
Is it a waste of everyone's time to post descriptions of crazy lines that make my jaw drop, or would it be of interest to anyone looking for challenges, rather than classics, when heading through an area? Thoughts?
If you haven't climbed it, don't post it. Posting a line you haven't climbed invariably means a poor description and also means that when someone does climb it, then they can't post an accurate description.
If you want people to know about a line or lines that aren't listed and that you haven't climbed then put the information in a comment on the containing area.
I posted my thoughts on this matter a few years ago here.
