Thanks for the helpful advice. Although it'd be nice to incorporate the 9.2, it makes more sense to get different ropes for my doubles.

I have. Sometimes lead on a Sterling 10.1 paired with a Mammut Genesis 8.5 Heavier than I like it to be, tho. This is mostly because I like to lead DRT and some of my partners prefer to lead SRT with a tag line. Neither is a problem with an ATC-XP

I prefer to lead on two of my Genesis 8.5s. Feel really secure and nice for anchoring with the rope at belays. They're rated as half and twin. All my ropes are 60m.

We DO like the ability to do full length raps at the Gunks. When using different diameters, I tie them together with a FLAT double fisherman's. Haven't had any problems yet rapping on different diameters together.(You should research this) Although, sometimes we block the knot, rap on one and use the other just to pull down.

I'd chime in w Scott. I had 50m twins at Sheepshead, AZ, last month and got skunked once [in 2 wks] when rap'ing. I'd get 60m twins for sure and be happy with the slight extra weight. 50's don't work in the South San Rafael Swell either (I learned the hard way). To quote Jon, "It isn't 1985 anymore." How true.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
