Road Trip Packing List

So the girlfriend and I are loading up our Toyota Sienna in a couple of days and taking off to watch my sister graduate from college in Tucson AZ and are going to turn it into a nice climbing road trip on the way there and back. (We live in Bozeman, MT) We are leaving on Sunday and therefore are beginning to put together a list of things we need to bring as was wondering if the MP community wanted to help build the ultimate road trip packing list. We will be gone for 3 weeks and will be climbing mostly in the desert on the way there and back.
Google Spreadsheet Packing LIst
Due to the magics of the internets we can all work on a single document and create this masterpiece of packing lists. I've already filled it with many things, but I'm sure I've forgotten some things. FYI the nice clothes/makeup on the list are for my sisters graduation and probably wouldn't go on a regular list. My hope is to make a list that could be somewhat universal and be used for any would be roadtrippers.
Thanks guys!
-Ty

At least one 7-gallon Aqua-tainer or similar water jug.

I recommend a Tyveck sheet... You can use it as a ground sheet, as a back up if your tent fails, as a rain cover for your tent. And you look super legit with one. Oh yeah and if you ever are caught in a storm you can wrap any gear that wont fit in the tent in your Tyveck. The stuff is like magic!!

On a side note. Muttonface I am saving your list. That thing is amazing!!

We are packed mostly into rubbermaid tubs which does make the organization a little easier and allows for easy gear sorting. Also makes it easier to just check off a tub as having all the things you need.

Yeah we have a 7 gallon aquatainer and plan on freezing 4 2 liter bottles of water to use as ice for our cooler and for drinking water once they thaw out. Hoping to spend some time in Indian Creek which is not known for its ample water supply.

Frisbee

Edited to add: Block Ice (not cubed)

A small cooler, rated for 3 or more days, large enough for 20-40 lbs of ice. Open it only to refresh the ice in the main cooler every morning or night (when temps are coolest). Save the water you drain from the main cooler for washing. Ice goes quick in the desert, esp. in may. Have fun, enjoy Az and travel safely.

Did I miss a box of baby wipes anywhere? Easy cleanup when showers are not available.

Condoms? You don't need no stinking condoms....if you're on a road trip, when's the next time you'll be back in (insert area/city here)?

And to the people who keep posting bullshit in the packing list...I'm sure you think you are really funny but its really just annoying. I know I shouldn't expect much with the internet and all...but things I don't need include; a black dildo, weed, hash, hash pipe, valtrex, grass, porn...and the list goes on. Trying to actually build a helpful packing list and you wankers keep trying to vandalize it. Jeez.

This is a great list. Not sure if these are applicable to you, but I would add:

- camp chair(s)
- state/national park pass(es)
- check book (for camping fees, park admissions, etc. instead of having to refresh your small bill collection; a few years ago the Tioga Pass kiosk wasn't taking credit/ATM cards)

Wow Ty, lighten up. It is funny. You're planning on going on a road trip. Have some fun maybe? You're asking what to bring on a road trip. Dude, you're 25. You don't know what to pack for a road trip?

I know what to pack for a road trip...I've done the drive from AK to Bozeman 8 times. I just thought I'd get some constructive help on the spreadsheet not just comments such as black dildo, valtrex, etc.... I'm also fighting through finals week so I'm not really in the mood to deal with the jokes.

I also posted the list that I built as a helpful thing for the community with some feedback/helpful additions being the hope. I guess I was expecting a little too much. I also always seem to forget at least one thing and was hoping I wouldn't this time around.
