hey guys just wondering what your thoughts are about home made portaledges and especially the krustyledge featured on rockclimbing.com?

http://www.rockclimbing.com/Articles/Big_Wall-Aid_Climbing/How_I_built_my_Krustyledge_for_under_100_you_can_too__65.html

is using PVC a little to weak for strength of a portaledge? or is it totally safe and im just being paranoid?

does anyone have any good designs they are willing to share or photos of their ledges?

thank you and safe climbing
-PD

The link was no good so I couldn't see it but if you're looking for home made ledge info check out bigwalls.com. There's a whole right up thread in the forums by Minindorf (sp?).

I'm in the process of building one right now. It's been an ongoing project that's been interupted many times.
