Topher,

I don't know the conditions but the usual parking area for Cascade Falls is at the entrance to Bay View Campground. The trail starts after walking to the south end of the campground. With the snow I'm not sure it would be in shape and you may have to go xc to get there.

Let me know if hear about the conditions and want to get out on the ice.

I realize this is a bit off topic, but I noticed that there is a lot of pretty nice ice at Sugar Bowl, underneath one of the chair lines. I'm curious, has anyone ever climbed that? Would the mountain even let you? It seems like it could be a pretty weird little adventure.

one of the most consistent ice crags, cold stream canyon, is just north of sugar bowl. not sure about climbing in-bounds, I doubt that's in their permit. off season however, it might be possible.

is this ice natural or from something like snow making operations?

I think it was natural, it was under the lincoln express chair, where there are some nice chutes and smaller cliffs, but there was fairly steep, blue ice that would be perfect for a mellow top rope.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
