Has anybody been out to Taylor's Falls lately? I'm planning on heading up there on Saturday and hoping that the Minnesota Strip will be dry enough to climb. I feel like last year in the early spring there was a lot of water running down the wall around Blue Moon but otherwise it was climbable.
@Michael - There aren't actually falls in Taylors Falls. They were there before the dam went in.
As for the conditions, most of the Minnesota Strip, Keyhole Area, and Second Overlook should be dry enough to climb. Minnesota got skipped by winter this year...
Went out there yesterday. All of the Minnesota strip is totally dry. There were 4-5 groups out climbing consistently throughout the day. Beautiful weather!
Wisconsin side looked cold and snowy but there was at least one group bouldering over there at Mike's Boulder. A lot of wetness on the Minnesota side bouldering. The Slicksides pit was dripping water along with Sizzlefoot wall. But a few problems are dry with a little snow at the base.
Sucks you got stung by the bees. I had a few land on me but they seemed pretty chill. I'd just blow on them and they'd fly away. I also encountered a huge nest of box elder bugs over by the Second Overlook area. Not fun reaching into a crack and having your hand swarmed by a bunch of insects.
