Anyone had any experience climbing on some of the lower buttresses in the early season? Forecast looks great down there this weekend. Good spots to seek sun? Good spots to camp lower in the canyon?

Yeah man, you are good to go, anything that catches sun in Ten Sleep is climbale in 35 degree, or warmer, weather. It's the bighorns so camping is everywhere. enjoy.

Thanks Cole! I guess I should have said I was looking more specifically for walls that do collect a lot of sun. Sounds like the Dry Wall area and Leigh Creek are good bets. Is there free camping down lower in the canyon?

if you go into leigh creek this early take caution crossing creek, warm temps have created a high rate of melt and runoff. Other than that as cole says if its sunny and you dont mind slogging through a little snow in the shady areas you're good to go. The forecast from what i've seen puts temps this weekend in the high 50's to low 60's.

Dry Wall is a great option. As far as camping, they wont have the old hwy open yet so camping options will be limited to above the canyon, you should be fine, but i'd recommend taking a tarp put your tent on as it is very wet and snowy still up higher.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
