What month will LCC, BCC, Maple and American Fork Canyon be Climbable?
|
I just moved to Utah and I can not wait for Climbing season? Does anyone know what MONTH the following will be climbable? |
|
Climbing is possible year round in all four locations. |
|
LCC is currently climable, if you get a decent warm spell and a sunny day... most of the climbs in the lower canyon are south facing. |
|
Climbing at the entrance to Rock Canyon in Provo (Superbowl Wall, Jobsite, etc) is good now. If it snows, give it 2 days of sun and it'll be dry again. |

BCC tends to be colder, but you're probably good to go by April. |

The stuff at the mouth of BCC dries as fast as anything in Little, maybe even faster. It's in the sun most of the day and makes for fun winter cragging... Think Margin for Air, Aguaworld, Aqueduct. |

Look out window, rinse and repeat. I have had fantastic climbing days every month of the year. If you discover ice climbing, you can climb nearly every single day somewhere. |

I'm going to put in another plug for rock canyon. If you go on a sunny day, you can pretty much climb anywhere in the mouth of the canyon which means you have your choice of a number of climbs ranging from 5.6 to 5.13. |

Thats awesome! Well I'm having real rock withdrawals so if anyone wants to go climb outside, let me know :) |
