Down Cleaner in Boulder
|
Does anyone know of/have any experience with a Dry Cleaner in the Boulder area who knows what they are doing cleaning down jackets? Thanks for any POSITIVE feedback. |

Nikwax makes a product that allows you to do it yourself (tho I think you're supposed to use a front-loading washer). Also, if you do it yourself, if you dry it in a machine, throw a handful of tennis balls in with the garment to help maintain the loft as it dries. |

do it yourself, dry cleaners fuck shit up. you can do enough reading online to do a better job. don't you hate when people don't just answer your question |
|
you can most likely wash and dry it at home. i've done that with my down jackets and had no problems at all. i think some recommend using a front load washing machine or one w/o an agitator. |

Grangers is another company that makes a down cleaner. Don't use detergent as it will strip the natural oils from the down and any DWR that was applied at the factory. |
|
You could send it off to Feathered Friends, about $20 plus shipping. |

Soap (not detergents) and a gentle cycle or hand-washing is all you need. |

I used the nikwax product with success on a couple different occasions. |

Meadowview Cleaners in Longmont has done a nice job on my patagucci in the past. They seemed to know what they were doing. No problems. |

Woolite works for me. gentle cycle and then dryer on low with a couple tennis balls |
