GoLite Experience

Shout out to a great company!: GoLite has had a "clearance" sale in Boulder for three plus months now. I've bought a number of their products over the years and have generally been happy with their stuff. On Friday, I brought a jacket back that I bought in December. I did not have a receipt, it was a little (chimneying) scuffed up and had obviously been worn. While most of their items have fit me well, this one had sleeves that just didn't work for me. The woman who helped me, Beverly, never questioned a thing and gave me a full refund. She was apologetic, professional and entirely pleasant. A great experience and a company I will continue to support (and no, I have no affiliation with GoLite whatsoever).

Cool, I live about a block from there and I've been meaning to check it out.

They let me go through 3 iterations of sizes on a jacket that I was buying for a friend in Ontario until I got the one that worked for her. Each time I was past the 30-day exchange since I had to wait until I was traveling there for her to try them on, and it was no problem whatsoever. Fantastic customer service and good quality product.

So you bought a jacket that didn't fit, took it out and wrecked it, and then took it back for a refund? I agree that it was nice of them to give you your money back, but it doesn't seem like you have chosen the best way to support this company.

Ryan,

In the spirit of staying positive: I have bought hundreds of dollars of product from this company for myself, my kids and friends and have been quite happy with all but this one jacket. I put a positive message out that I think this is a good company and will continue to support them. Not sure I could have chosen a better way to support this company. They stepped up and kept a customer happy. I will continue to do business with them in the future and would encourage others to consider them.

nothing wrong with using a companies warranty to the fullest ...

at worst, they just say no and thats up to them ...

there was an instance where a cat wrecked an OR jacket, and OR just gave em a new one ... i have full confidence when buying from OR personally

its those kind of stories that bring customers to buy from that company .... people often buy at REI for that reason, they seem to be doing fine

I'm glad you had a positive experience with us! I would like everybody to know that we will be opening our flagship retail store on Pearl Street February 29th. Come on down and check it out! The new spring line is SICK! Champagne Gear. Beer Prices.

Another huge thumbs up to Golite from me. I bought a giant pack from them at the factory sale, way overloaded it for a big mountaineering trip, and it still carried as well as my really heavy old Dana Design pack that i've since retired(anyone want to buy an old astralplane overkill?).

I tore up a Golite down jacket pretty badly climbing, but consider that my fault for using it in a way that it really wasn't designed for. I patched it up with duct tape and it is just fine now though not as light as it used to be.

Go Lite is fantastic for Ultra lightweight hiking.

Cant speak to climbing, but generally I dont like the SilNylon stuff if it's going to be taking too much abuse.

Are you guys hiring for positions at the flagship store?
