Hi folks - I've never been ice climbing and was hoping to give it a go. I mostly trad climb at the Gunks, lead up to 5.6/5.7, and follow a grade or so higher. I really, really want to try ice this winter. If anyone plans on ice climbing over the next few weekends at all and would be open to having a beginner ice climber join you anytime let me know, I'd love to come along!
I wouldnt mind. Although not sure how much more of the season is left in the Cats. Most likely will be spending the rest of my time on the ice in the daks, or NH. I am located in Northern NJ (Passaic county near Wayne, Little falls, Totowa, etc. Where are you located? And do you have any gear? Tools? Boots? Crampons?
This weekend I am heading up to my house in the central-southern Daks to hop on the sled (snowmobile) with my partner and go find some unclimbed stuff way out in the middle of nowhere. The following weekend I will be up there again, but I will get at least a handle of days in still up north. If your local, and want to join us, you could hop in my car. If not, you could meet us wherever and carpool up. Most weekends we just mess around top roping some harder stuff. I only lead WI3-4. I see you rock climb, have you ever climbed ice before?

@cms829 I sent you an email as well, I'm pretty sure there are trains/buses running from the city to the Daks that I could take depending on where you're going.
