hey guys my buddy and i are fixing to do quite a bit more aid this winter along with ice climbing but i just wanted to ask and see if anyone had any suggestions for fun aid lines in the northeast. We plan on spending some time at the spiders web to start things off easy.

If you're heading down to the gunks for aid, you may want to check out this guys website: ghiz.org/gunksaid.shtml

He's got some good beta on there. We're heading up this weekend to tick off a few more.

What kind of aid? Assuming hard, at the Daks:

Moss cliff. It's pretty gnarly, and doesn't have a heinous approach (assuming you can cross the river). It also has a couple ice drips you can reach from aid lines, Bobo the Circus Idiot most notable. It's also overhanging, so you can actually do clean aid in the winter.

If you're in to slamming pitons into frozen cracks and terrifying yourself on Spectres, Wallface is nice. I assume there's dry rock there, especially this year, but it will be icier than the overhung stuff. Of course, it would be nice if we got some snow so you could ski the approach...

I remember seeing just recently some upstate dude with a blog who reported a "new cliff" which, from the pictures he posted, offers tremendous aid potential up diagonal cracks in solid rock. You might consider going there.

Said dude also waxed philosophical in his blog about mixed climbing FAs.

(If I'm being too subtle, let me know and I'll point you in the right direction!)
