a) the photographer was not my belayer b) I don't like tight belays c) I was fussy as the starting moves put strain on my tendonitis & already had to call for slack for the opening moves. d) same as b...I do not like tight belays on TR, on the follow or when leading.
Furthermore, there was zero chance I would ground out, simulated or otherwise.

Susan...really sorry to hear about the tendinitis. I hope it improves. My comments simply expressed concern over the apparent excessive slack in the rope. Different strokes for different folks. I don't see any reference to a potential "ground out," but yours. And as usual the only number DE has is his penchant for sarcasm and the number of posts he makes to express it.
