NH Ice Conditions
Has anyone been up to Mt Willard or Huntington Ravine yet this season? |
Check out NEice.com. People post conditions reports almost daily. There is definitely ice to be had up there. |
Also check out neclimbs.com It looks like winter may be cancelled this year. :-( |
I was just at Huntinton. The ice on Odell's is good. People were climbing Pinnacle as well. Some of the other gullies didn't look that great though. |
Went through Crawford Notch today hoping to climb. Freezing rain and low clouds with occasional glimpses. Willard lower section was kind of ugly. Couldn't see the upper tier. Not sure how the ice would fair after weather today. |
I was up in Huntington ravine on Thursday looking to climb Pinnacle. The ice was pretty skimp, we figured screws wouldn't go to well so brought quite a bit of rock pro. In the end, we got up to the base of it, on top of the fan, had some lunch and bailed. Winds were gnarly. Also, the ice isn't thick enough to reach the fixed anchors atop P1. We didn't see anyone top out that day, people went up, checked it out, went home. |
Got out for my first time (ever) with a guide for the last two days. |
I climbed Shoestring Gully on Mt. Webster last week. Ice wasn't "IN" but there was climbing to be had. |
I climbed in Tuckermans on Friday, it was really nice and fat, lots of lines to choose from.....climbed around the Pinkham notch area yesterday, also in....it was warming up today so not sure the southern stuff will hold up. Anything on Washington should be good right now.... |
Anyone been to Cathedral? North End Pillars in at all? I'm guessing no. |
