Looking for the best campsite for campers near the crags around Boulder, any suggestions?

Options are limited to very very limited...
But first, for what time of year?

If the occupy protests are still going on, you'll be able to camp at the base of Boulder Canyon.

Look into the Boulder County Fairgrounds. I've never stayed their but I was told they have a nice bathroom/showers. I think it's in Lyons though..

By mid-March, there will be a lot of options. Ned is up the hill and will be cooler and perhaps wet/snowy.
Down on the flatlands, ~1/2 hour NE of town lies Saint Vrain State Park, which has exceptional facilities and will have plenty of space. I dunno the cost per night (Google will), but you can tent or RV camp there.

ok I hate to ask, but where/what is Ned? I've tried searching it but I can't really find anything specific, and I need to figure this out because I'm tryin to plan a trip to boulder for spring break

Nederland

Nederland is a town about 20 minutes up Boulder Canyon, West, from downtown Boulder. If you follow Canyon Street west from Boulder you'll end up in Ned.

I think there is a RV park in Golden, which would put you closer to Eldo than the Nederland option.

There are walk in camp sites in white ranch open space park between golden and boulder. I believe its free but you can only stay 3 days in a row. jeffco.us/openspace/openspa…

Boulder Mountain Lodge, located at the base of Four Mile Canyon, just a few miles up Boulder Canyon has a few tent sites you can reserve.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
